MINERALS

They are an inorganic component of our feeding process. Minerals take part in many growth and metabolism activities.

Classification: It is based according to the mineralīs organic contents (50 mg/kg weight) or oligoelements (lower concentration). For larger amounts we use the gram as a measuring unit and milligram or microgram for smaller amounts. Among the larger amounts we have:   sodium, potassium,  calcium, magnesium, Clorox, sulf y phosphorus. Among the smaller amounts we have: chrome, cobalt, fluor, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, molibdene, selenium y zinc.

Daily Recommended Dosage of Minerals

Calcium -DDR 800mg daily - Most abundant mineral in a human body, 2% of the organismīs weight is from minerals. 99 % is in the bones ans teeth, nervous impulses, enxymatic activation, 1st muscle contraction and as a catalizer to many biological reactions.

Deficit: Small deficit passes unnoticed, the body can use minerals available in the bone. Prolonged deficits (30-40 years of age)  prevents bones from reaching their maximum density, this may cause problems in the elder.

Phosphorus -DDR 800mg daily - Takes part in bone and teeth formation, allows energy storage and liberation, involved in al metabolic processes. Calcium and phosphorus must be ingested simultaneously and on a 1/1 proportion. This allows a optimum assimilation. Excessive phosphorus ingestion dminishes calcium absorption, causing the organism to take it from the bones.

Deficit : Bone pain, memory loss and concentration, poor calcium absorption. The organism can also find it in the bones.

Magnesium - DDR Men 350mg / Women 280mg. Available in bone and soft white tissues and performs as catalizer for several biological functions (energy liberation, nutrient absorption and transport, nervous impulse transmission, muscular contraction).

Most of the western population of the world, does not reach the minimum amounts of magnesium. This is caused by the refined food, industrial refreshments, candies, etc.

Deficit:Muscle weakness, uncoordination, depression, irritability.Masny professionals believe it can cause cardiac arrests.

Sodium  -  Controls organism liquid balance, acid base balance, nervous and muscle responses. Most of it found in salts, preservers added to foods (meats, cheese, soups, cereals, canned vegetables). Excessive amounts can cause liquid retaining, artery hipertension.

Deficit. : Almost impossible, only in remote situations, causes cramps. thirst and muscle debilitations.

Potasium - Conttrols organismīs liquid balance, acid base balance, nervous and muscle responses. It complements sodium ingestion, helps to eliminate it, reduces hypertension incovenience possibilities.

Deficit : Cardiac arrest, strokes. Since it cannot be stored it is immediately noticed (weakness sensation, thirst, confusion, and exhaustion).

Clorox  -  Controls organismīs liquid balance, acid base balance, nervous and muscle responses.

Deficit . Very unlikely. Causes by prolongued vomiting or excessive transpiring.

Sulphur. Found in cells and directly related to protein activities. No deficiencies have ever been found in human beings, therefore we cannot determine any minimum daily requirements.

Iron
- DDR Men 10mg / Women 15mg - Helps formation, which is responsible for taking oxygen from lungs to tissues and organs. Anemia is caused by iron deficiency. This is very common worldwide and affects every country, including the most developed. Cooking food with iron containers and eating non/refined foods would increase 100% to 400% its consumption.

Deficit : Diminishes work performance, diseases resistence, body temperature. Prolonged deficit causes anemia.

Manganese - : Involved in bone formation, and several enzymatic processes.

Deficit : No deficit diagnosis has been found in humans. However, it causes animal deformation, and low growth and development.

Selenium - DDR Men 70mcg 1 Women 55mcg. Protects red cells (along with vitamin E). It is necessary for normal growth and developments.

Deficit : Fertility reduction, miocardiopathies, less orgnism resistance against oxidizing disorders.

Iodine - Tiroxine element (tiroide gland hormone which regulates basic metabolic functions).

Deficit : Tiroid gland swelling when it doesnīt recieve enough iodine from the blood stream forming goiter. Physcial and mental activity becomes more difficult, weight increase, hair thickening, and dry hair. Possible child retardness.

Zinc - DDR Men 15mg / Women 12mg. Insuline component, it influences wound and burns healing. Helps in several enzymatic activities.

Deficit : Appetite, taste, smell loss, slow scar healing, less hair groth, dermatitis, defense decrease and pregnancy complications.

Chrome - Involved in sugar metabolizing into  the blood. Inexistent in refined foods.

Deficit. : Lack of information regarding this mineral have not permitted to learn exactly its deficit inconveniences. Its asociated with glucose intolerance and cholesterol increases.

Fluor - Its plays and important role in bone and teeth formation. Excess causes permanent teeth spots.

Deficit. : Cavities, calcium assimilation problems.

Molibdene - Element involved in the organismīs iron reserve  regulation.

Deficit.: Provides dental cavity resistance.
